I Don’t Know What I Don’t Know About Myself.
“When I don’t know what to do, then I know what to do.” These words came from my heart during my morning devotions a few weeks ago. We pray, asking God to intervene when we are unsure of what to do. Yet, it’s in those moments that you know what to do.
In life, many things happen beneath the surface. I don’t know what I don’t know about myself, but I realize there are things I am unaware of. However, if I don’t know what I don’t know, how can I honestly identify it? That’s when we need others.
You know the relief you feel when someone tells you that you have lettuce between your teeth? You’re embarrassed because of all the people who didn’t tell you, but you’re so thankful that finally someone did.
I am grateful for those who take the time to share with me what I don’t know. This is part of the role we play in each other’s lives. We help each other understand what is true.
